I was directed to your website through friends who visited the 2010 festival and posted photos on the internet. It's a wonderful community project and I was very excited to view all the mandalas that have been created over the years.

So great to see this site up! Next level! Being a part of the mandala in 2000, '01, '02, and '03 were formative experiences in my life, and it was so wonderful to go back with my daughter Maya when she was 1 in 2007. She enjoyed painting for her very first time, (and i know it imprinted her!) and my wife Lieh and i loved it again, too.
May all who participate this year be blessed with the spirit of deepest creativity, in this, the 13th year, completing the first cycle.
Love and light,

Really nice idea/concept. I like the idea that community are encouraged to participate in making art... who knows what it might inspire in a young person.

Hey everyone ~
Wow, what an awesome website!!! Hahaha :)
It was such an honour to step into the mandala project in a much deeper way this year, by creating the website with Erica and painting my VERY FIRST painting on the mandala!!! I have been a part of the community for years, but now I feel like I'm really deepening into the flow.
I'm really excited to make a beautiful design to adorn this site - it's so simple right now!
Truly an honour to be a part of this

Hi Erica and Rob,
Great work! The mandala's are amazing. So great to see how this project has evolved from it's humble beginnings and how it has brought the community together. Inspirational.
When I was looking at the pictures, I was thinking about other community projects that started out in a similarly radical fashion. A spark of inspiration, an idea, then a reclamation. The community gardens in East Van (Venables) were started in a similar way. A very small group of people just going and "taking it back". Guerilla gardening on empty lots. Now look at how it has transformed that community and helped the lives of many.
Hope you are both well and hope to see you soon.

C'mon...really....no one else wishes to say anything??? A tad surprising given the level of community spirit....and what about " passerbyes"?

To all who read this:
It is a great honor to be part of this community event.....in any fashion.
To be invited to be part of the " organizing crew " this year was especially, and deliciously, kharmic.
I await further oppurtunities to be of assistance.
And to any locals.....I have a modest proposal.....I'd like to start a " Rainy Nights Supper Club ". The intended purpose.....to act as a further
community Creek Spirit endeavor.....and mostly as an ongoing Mandala fundraiser.....to wit:
Interested parties pay 50$ a couple for a good dinner.....proceeds go directly to Mandala Fund. Hosting person(s) contribute by supplying and cooking the menu.
I hereby volunteer myself first as cook.....but I must advise.....as great a cook as I am.....you should be meat friendly to some extent...lol!

Hi Erica,
Just a post to let you know people are watching :-)

We had the honour and luck of visiting Roberts Creek while the Mandala was being created this year. Our kids participated and by far this was one of the best parts of our vacation. Thanks for letting our family help.
